Will Ultherapy Get Rid of Jowls? See Before and After Photos

One of the most significant trends during the past couple of decades is the development of nonsurgical facial rejuvenation treatments, including Ultherapy®. What sets Ultherapy apart from other skin tightening devices is that it delivers ultrasound energy much deeper, targeting tissue well below the skin’s surface.

For people who are self-conscious about loose skin along the jawline and neck, Ultherapy produces dramatic results in a single treatment. One of the most common aesthetic concerns both men and women share is jowling—the sagging skin that softens the jawline’s definition and creates an aged appearance.

Other areas that can be treated are the upper eyelids, brow line, chin, or chest to create a lifted, tighter look. Depending on the area of concern, our providers will create a customized treatment plan.

Ultherapy is well-known for tightening loose neck skin, but some patients considering the treatment ask if the procedure is effective for reducing the appearance of jowls. The best answer can be seen in some of our cosmetic patients’ Ultherapy before and after photos.

We achieved this result after a single treatment session with Ultherapy. The arrows show where we tightened the skin under her chin and along the jawline to minimize jowling. We also reduced the appearance of a nasolabial fold and reduced some fine lines and wrinkles on this side profile view.

This 52-year-old patient wanted to tighten the skin along her jawline and on her neck. We performed Ultherapy to the lower face and neck, and no downtime was needed after the treatment.

We used Ultherapy to firm the skin on both the cheeks and neck of this 57-year-old patient. This shows the results just 2 months after the treatment.

This patient, who is 44, has been bothered by a double chin since high school. Her double chin, as is often the case, was an inherited trait. Dr. Gross performed neck liposuction to remove the accumulated fat and submentoplasty to tighten muscles under the chin. Later, she was treated with Ultherapy to tighten and lift her jawline. She’s very happy with her improved profile.

This 63-year-old patient wanted a firmer lower face and neck. The arrows point to the treatment areas, showing how Ultherapy reduced the developing marionette line running from the corner of her mouth to her chin and the significantly tightened upper neck area.
