Laser Skin Resurfacing With a Facial Aesthetic Specialist

DOT therapy transforms your skin and enhances its overall appearance using a fractional CO2 laser. The laser creates thousands of microscopic holes in your skin, which induce immediate skin tightening and stimulate new collagen growth. Patients are often amazed at how tight their skin feels immediately after the procedure.

This fractional delivery minimizes risks while still offering superior results with one treatment. We can adjust the laser’s settings to customize an individual treatment. We can also make adjustments throughout the procedure for the accurate treatment of specific areas such as acne scars or fine lines.

“Because DOT therapy delivers the desired outcome with minimal downtime, it is replacing traditional CO2 laser skin resurfacing as the treatment of choice for mild to moderate signs of photo damage.”
– Dr. Gross

What to Expect

DOT laser treatments are performed with a topical numbing cream called BLT, which is highly effective at pain relief. In some cases, we also administer a mild sedative and analgesic. Treatments last an average of 30 minutes and require only 3 to 5 days of downtime.

The fractional approach makes use of the body’s natural healing response in a unique way by creating tiny, evenly spaced surface wounds instead of one large, red, oozing burn. This technology minimizes the risks of developing hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation and scarring. Within a week of your DOT treatment, you should develop visibly tighter, fresher skin that will continue to improve over the next several months.

“The best long-term results from laser resurfacing require more than just laser treatment. That is why I have my team of skincare specialists examine and educate each patient prior to and after DOT therapy. A specialized skincare plan will adequately prepare the skin for the laser procedure, take care of the skin during the healing phase, and maintain the tremendous gains achieved from the procedure.”
– Dr. Gross
