Proven Techniques, Outstanding Results
At Primera, we use Dermal Optical Thermolysis (DOT) therapy for laser skin resurfacing. This method is ideal for the treatment of conditions such as:
- Sun damage
- Brown spots
- Fine lines
- Skin laxity and texture
- Acne scars
Dr. Gross or his certified physician assistant Eileen can customize the treatment to best serve your needs. He or she may also recommend an alternative treatment with either the Cynosure Icon® or Pulsed Dye Laser system depending on your concerns.
Laser Skin Resurfacing With a Facial Aesthetic Specialist
Dermal Optical Thermolysis (DOT) therapy transforms your skin and enhances its overall appearance using a fractional CO2 laser. The laser creates thousands of microscopic holes in your skin, which induce immediate skin tightening and stimulate new collagen growth. Patients are often amazed at how tight their skin feels immediately after the procedure.
This fractional delivery minimizes risks while still offering superior results with one treatment. We can adjust the laser's settings to customize an individual treatment. We can also make adjustments throughout the procedure for the accurate treatment of specific areas such as acne scars or fine lines.
"Because DOT therapy delivers the desired outcome with minimal downtime, it is replacing traditional CO2 laser skin resurfacing as the treatment of choice for mild to moderate signs of photo damage."
Laser Skin Resurfacing Cost
At Primera Plastic Surgery near Orlando, each laser skin resurfacing treatment is customized to suit the patient's specific needs and desired results. Therefore, it's impossible to offer a specific quote via the internet. In general, our patients can expect to pay $2,000 to $2,500, although this price varies. During your consultation, we will offer you a more precise estimate that reflects the specifications of your procedure. We offer patient financing options to help patients work laser resurfacing and any complementary treatments into their budgets.
What to Expect
DOT laser treatments are performed with topical numbing cream and, in some cases, a mild sedative and analgesic. We also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to reduce discomfort during DOT treatments. Nitrous oxide is a safe, short-acting analgesic similar to that used in sedation dentistry and preferred by many patients. Treatments last an average of 30 minutes and require only 3 to 5 days of downtime.
The fractional approach makes use of the body's natural healing response in a unique way by creating tiny, evenly spaced surface wounds instead of one large, red, oozing burn. This technology minimizes the risks of developing hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation and scarring. Within a week of your DOT treatment, you should develop visibly tighter, fresher skin that will continue to improve over the next several months.
"The best long-term results from laser resurfacing require more than just laser treatment. That is why I have my team of skincare specialists examine and educate each patient prior to and after DOT therapy. A specialized skincare plan will adequately prepare the skin for the laser procedure, take care of the skin during the healing phase, and maintain the tremendous gains achieved from the procedure."
