Botox Treatment in Orlando

Whether you want to look younger, brighten your appearance or simply seek a reduction of frown lines and wrinkles, Botox is just what you’re looking for. Botox injections are safe and effective, particularly when administered by a physician with substantial experience with the product. In the Orlando area, Dr. Edward J. Gross at Primera Plastic Surgery and Day Spa is a trusted Botox specialist with many satisfied and returning clients.

Botox is an FDA-approved drug that is injected to minimize the appearance of facial wrinkles, especially those around the mouth and eyes, often called “laugh lines” and “crow’s feet.” Wrinkles on the forehead and neck also respond well to Botox, leaving you with smoother, younger looking skin. Botox is also proven to significantly reduce chronic tension headaches and migraines. The drug also treats excess sweating.

Unlike more invasive cosmetic procedures, Botox injections are nearly painless. The procedure itself is very quick, lasting only a few minutes. Botox also requires no down-time for healing after the injections are done. If you have sun damage, scarring or areas of excessive pigmentation on your face, your Botox injections can be combined with Fraxel Laser treatment. This makes it easy for Dr. Gross to serve even the busiest professionals in a quick, convenient manner. Busy moms and dads will also find that scheduling a Botox appointment around their entire family’s schedule is very simple to do.

The primary difference between Botox and other wrinkle-reducing treatments, such as Juvederm, Radiesse or Restylane, is that Botox is not a facial filler. Rather than filling in or plumping up wrinkles to sit flush with the surrounding skin, Botox works by limiting the movements of certain muscle groups in the face. In order to achieve natural results and maintain a normal level of facial expression, you should choose an experienced facial plastic surgeon to administer your Botox injections.

Dr. Gross has over 17 years of experience as a facial plastic surgeon. This experience allows him to properly plan your Botox injections, giving you a more youthful look without the appearance that you’ve had a plastic surgery procedure. Furthermore, Primera has received the Platinum designation from Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox. This recognition is the highest given to clinics that provide Botox treatments to their clients, and shows the confidence that Allergan has in Primera as a leading provider of Botox treatments.

We will strive to make your Botox procedure a pleasant experience. The relaxing and inviting environment of the facility, which houses Primera Day Spa, Primera Salon and Primera Surgery center, will put you immediately at ease. The appoachable bedside manner of Dr. Gross, named by the American Medical Association as a “Physician Who Cares” and ‘Best Plastic Surgeon’ by Orlando Magazine, will further alleviate any concerns about your Botox treatment. A natural result and quality medical care are combined with a  friendly, knowledgeable staff at Primera.

Below are commonly asked questions and a an educational diagram explaining how Botox is administered.

Which muscles are injected with Botox?

Since Botox removes wrinkles by preventing muscle contraction, practitioners must know all about the underlying facial muscle anatomy and know which facial muscles can be treated with Botox to get the best results and avoid complications.

Did you know?

*There are over 50 muscles in the human face.

“Face muscles are complex and a thorough understanding of contracting and counterbalancing muscles is needed. This relationship must be understood before injecting Botox”, says Dr.Gross.

The muscles of the upper part of the face that are usually treated with Botox include the forehead (‘Frontalis’) for horizontal forehead wrinkles, the muscles in and between the eyebrows (‘Corrugator’) for the “11’s and frowning”, the muscles surrounding the eyes (‘Orbicularis oculi’) causing crinkling and crows feet, and the muscle over the upper nose ‘Procerus’) causing the ‘bunny lines’,

In the lower half of the face, the wrinkles around the upper lip may be treated by injecting small doses of Botox into the ‘Orbicularis oris’ (muscle circling the mouth) and the muscles at the corner of the mouth (‘Depressor anguli oris’) which cause downward marrionette lines and corner of mouth drooping, while neck sagging is treated injecting Botox into the Platysma muscle (the thin muscle that drapes down from the jaw and down the neck—aka. “platysmal bands”).

The main expression muscles to be given Botox injections are..

Besides, where else can you get a world class doctor and hair and nails in the same place!
